While writing-up a quickie #FACEBOOKFILMREVIEW on Saban’s Power Rangers, I’d referenced the Joseph Kahn-directed / Adi Shankar-produced fan-made “dark” version titled “POWER/RANGERS” (blogged #onTOYSREVIL, circa 2015) - whose opening somewhat mirrored that of the opening of the feature film version too - so SPOILERS for folks who’ve yet to watch it, yeah?

#FACEBOOKFILMREVIEW for POWER RANGERS FILM: "Against all expectations, POWER RANGERS turned out to be a real fun watch! Without the experiences of “growing up” with the super sentai series in thy youth obscuring my current viewing journey (as TONS other old stool fans collectively baulk and scorn this film), and of course having a soft spot for 80’s teen flicks - #PowerRangers was John Hugh’s #BreakfastClub revival x mashedup with Michael Bay’s giant robots, with natty looking costumes helping put the CHEEZE into said-sentai proceedings, for a fun romp with no specific memorable scenes to taint, but I’m okay with that! I appreciate being “entertained”, and the Power Rangers property does not factor THAT much in my life anyways LOL"
