I remember being elated when the first movie came out, helmed by Len Wiseman (enjoyed his films, alongside Michael Bay et al), and without a doubt the svelte and gorgeous Kate Beckinsale (the director’s ex-wife, whom they met on “Underworld”), in a feature film franchise led by a strong female protagonist (as strong as a she-vampire could be, I suppose), in an updated twist of a love-story ala “Romeo and Juliet”, that continued to drag forth, until the latest incarnation - UNDERWORLD: BLOOD WARS!
Come January 2017, ”every bloodline must end” - and we see the Legacy of the films (except the 3rd prequel movie “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” starring Rhona Mitra instead in the main role), with “Selene” front-n-center!
"Underworld: Blood Wars is an upcoming 2017 American action horror film directed by Anna Foerster and written by Cory Goodman. It is the fifth installment in the Underworld film series and the sequel to 2012 film Underworld: Awakening, with Kate Beckinsale reprising her role as Selene. The other main cast included Theo James, Trent Garrett, Tobias Menzies, Lara Pulver, Clementine Nicholson, Bradley James, and Charles Dance. Principal photography began on October 19, 2015 in Prague, Czech Republic.
